Bradysia impatiens is a globally distributed species of fungus gnat (Sciaridae) and is one of the most economically significant pests in plant cultivation, particularly in greenhouses, hydroponics, and indoor potted plants. This species prefers moist substrates and develops in large numbers there. While the adult gnats are annoying but harmless, the larvae feed on young roots and can cause extensive plant damage.
