The Mediterranean flour moth is a globally widespread stored-product pest, primarily infesting grain products, flour, baking ingredients, and animal feed. Its larvae develop in open or damaged packaging, producing webbing that causes food to stick together and become unusable. In Switzerland, the Mediterranean flour moth is frequently found in mills, bakeries, food processing plants, and private homes. Infestations often go undetected for extended periods because the nocturnal moths are rarely seen.
